Do I just have a cold or could I have strep throat?!

Yesterday I felt my throat start hurting a tiny bit, and now today it hurts like a little more. I drank a ton of water to try to make it better, but it didn't help and now im just peeing every 15 mins. When I swallow its almost like my throat closes a little so its harder then normal to swallow...and its feels almost like I have sand in my throat (small pieces though...not like insane)...Do you think this is just a regular cold or could it be strep?
And when I was singing in church today I sounded like a dying toad. Or when I say something high it just sounds stupid. ..What do you think? Im not sure because Ive only had it once when I was like 6...and do you think I should stay home from school tomorrow?
