I got my first period and I have some questions?!

Question: I got my first period and I have some questions?
Ok so yesterday.. March 28th I got my first period. So I have some questions
1. Ok so when am I going to have my next period?
I know sometimes it can be irregular but I already actually had my first period a year ago so I think this one is going to stay...
2. All I have now is some brownish discharge but no big thing other than the one I had yesterday.. why? shouldn't it be like every time that I go to the bathroom I should have to change my pad?
3. Also when is a good time to start wearing a tampon and will it hurt?
Thanks in advance and sorry if this doesnt make much sense ?? ...

Answers:

1) Roughly, your period should come every 28 days - counting the day you started - but anywhere from 28-35 days is normal & fine. Yes, it sounds like it is your first 'proper' period, as many girls have one, then don't 'properly' start until 6-12 months later.
2) It could either be that you're really light, so it looks like bloody discharge. Don't worry, that's fine. Either that, or you have short (1-2 day) periods at the moment, and the brown discharge is old blood. Don't worry! No, it's not necessarily true that you have to change each time you go to the bathroom. The blood coming out does start & stop a bit randomly, and as you've just started, it will be a little weird, and take some time to know what's your normal. But roughly, change your pad every 3-4 hours, or it will start to smell.
3) It depends; it's different for each person. I (although you shouldn't) tried inserting a tampon when I hadn't even started my period. It didn't hurt me AT ALL, I just got it straight in, where as others have difficulty & pain inserting them. All I can say is start with the smallest tampons you can (lites or super lites) and relax. Follow the instructions properly, and have clean hands washed in hot water, and anti-bacterial soap.

1. Two first periods? Not possible. You can only go sky diving for the first time once. You can only have sex for the first time once. You can only have your first period for the first time once. And it will be completely irregular (after 4 years, mine still are). Average between them is 28-32 days (counting first day of bleeding as day 1).
2. Every few hours, like maybe 5, but only if uncomfortable. Brown blood is just old blood.
3. Don't do it, wait for at least a year. You will have a huge chance of getting TSS and you need to get used to the periods first.

1. Usually 28 days!
2. Brownish discharge is usually the end of your period. And yes change your pad regular or it will smell.
3. Some people start with tampons straight away, if you are going to use, make sure you relax when inserting and dont force it, sometimes it can feel uncomfortable, make sure you buy for your flow and read the instructions for Toxic Shock Syndrome.

brown discharge is a sign of your period. your period is very weird when it first starts. it will eventually turn into blood. tampons can hurt, if you put them in wrong. read the paper that is in the tampon box, that is always helpful. you can wear a tampon whenever you feel comfortable. ask your mom or a friend.

Well, congrats.
1. Typically, you will get your period in one month, and so on and so forth. 28 days is the average for women, but because you are new, your period will be really erratic, most likely. When I started, I made sure to wear a pad at week 3, just so it didn't surprise me in school.
2. Brownish discharge is just old blood- very normal. Change your pad every 3-6 hours, depending on how heavy your period is. You'll find your own preference. It is all up to you.
3. You can start wearing a tampon whenever you want. It may hurt, especially if your hymen is still intact. It didn't hurt when I first put one in, but was a little uncomfortable. Be sure to get a small size at first.
Good luck!

first want to say congratulations to being a "woman" . I didn't start yet but i might soon
ill answer your questions in the order you put them in
1. try to estimate at least 5 or 6 days away from when u start. its just to get a guess. but maybe you should mark ur calender from when u had ur first period, then when it stops, then when it starts aging. then go back to when it ended.
2. at first ur period is shaky so maybe in a year or so things will be different
3. Anytime pretty much. like if u do lots of activities like runnig basketball, and swimming especially. u have to relax ur body to insert it. they say u will feel it if its inserted wrong

book ( the care and keeping of you, the girls body book the period book) internet mom or female relative or friend
