Unprotected Sex (without condom) on the Birth Control Pill!?!?!

Question: Unprotected Sex (without condom) on the Birth Control Pill!?!?
Hi, so I have been on the pill since November of 2010. I am sixteen years old and I just started having sex (with a condom) in February 2011. My boyfriend and I are both "clean" and there are no risks of any transmitted diseases. We want to have sex in the shower...without a condom. If I am on the pill, is it safe enough for us to have sex without a condom? And another question...my periods usually go from wednesday to sunday. I just finished my period yesterday (sunday) and started the next set of pills (28 days) last night (at 8:10 pm, I always take them at the same time, or around there...and I never forget to). Am I protected after taking a week of my "white pills" (placebos-taken during week of period..they are just sugar, not real, and help for a reminder) and then starting the next pack as instructed? Or is it better to wait another week after my period for sex without a condom?!
Thank you so much, and I'm really just looking for an honest answer. And I completely understand the risks that come with sexual intercourse, and that is why I am taking precautions.

I've been on the pill for 15 long years and on the Mirena coil for another 10, never used a single condom, had plenty of sex and never had a pregnancy scare. It's up to you, but that's my experience.
The pill was developed to be safe enough all by itself.

Since you've been on the pill since november, it protects you all through the month, even during the stop week (sugar pill week). There is no need to regard any part of the month as less safe.

If you're good about taking your pills on time and never missing one, as you say you are, then the pill is very, very reliable.
You seem pretty mature and responsible to me. Good for you, and keep it up! Oh, and... enjoy.

25 years on hormone based birth control. Yes, I'm old. :-)
Here's a good informative site:

Birth control is pretty effective, however condoms are always a good thing to wear. I think you will be fine without a condom as far as pregnancy. (though i'm not advising unprotected sex) but i still think you should wear a condom because you.never.know. and its better safe than sorry right? But make sure its what you wanna do! (:
and as for the birth control question, i'm sorry. I can't help you there. I don't know anything about it.

Good Luck! ( :

You are protected after your first month of taking the pill. However birth control is just 99% effective.
