Whyyy am I bleeding? Getting a bit concerned here?!

Question: Whyyy am I bleeding? Getting a bit concerned here?
I've been on the pill for about 6 months.
Recently (Friday) I started bleeding. I haven't stopped. It's like a light period flow. I've taken the pill every day at the same time. I've stopped taking the sugar pills (I just continue taking the "active" pills) so I haven't gotten my period in about 6 weeks, and this isn't the time I would usually be getting my period anyway.
If this is relevant, I'm not sure it is, the last time I had sex was about 2 weeks ago. I don't think that has anything to do with it, but the more info the better, I guess.

What is going on? I'm confused and don't have access to a doctor. (Not a money issue--I'm at boarding school in a rural area. There is a health center, but they told me "spotting is normal!". This is NOT spotting).
Help?

Answers:

Many women who take birth control continuously to skip their periods have unpredictable bleeding, especially during the first 6 months. This can range from occasional spotting to breakthrough bleeding that lasts several days.
You probably do not need to seek medical attention unless the bleeding does not stop.

if the pills didnt work right there is a slight chance that it could be a miscarridge.. my gf sister had an abortion and took a pill for it and basically she had a miscarrige and bled alot more a couple of days

You make an appointment with them, insist on it. It is better to be checked out.
