Why does my Husband like making intense eye contact during sex?!

My guess is that he just loves you a lot, and is trying to make a more emotional and intimate connection with your during sex. He might not even be aware he's doing it. My boyfriend does this, and at first I was a little alarmed because he's the first man I've been with to do something so intimate. I wouldn't worry about it too much; just try to refocus on the passion and the pleasure, you'll probably find it isn't that odd at all, and you won't feel so self-conscious. If you have been married 3 years then you can ask him yourself for sure. You should be comfortable enough with him to be able to ask him anything. Ask him why he does that during sex and see what he says. You may change your mind about how you feel about it after you hear the reason he does it.
