Question about showering?!

Question: Question about showering?
Okay this is a Q about showering and basically if i am clean. I take a shower once everyday and my usual time in the shower is about 35-40 minutes. I wash my hair with shampoo 2 times, I wash my hair with conditioner 2 times and i wash my body about 2 or 3 times, but not in that order lol. I just got out out i the shower also and i was in there for about 30 minutes but sometimes i am in there up to an hour. And i am getting in the habit of taking a shower everyday b/c i am 16 and am a female so i especially need to make sure i am clean in all areas. And at school people tell me i don't smell bad So am i clean? Or do i need to do more when i am taking a shower to be clean?

Answers:

You don't need to spend so long in the shower. 10-15 minutes is enough to get clean.
If you still have concerns about your personal hygeine, make sure you use a non-scented soap, and when you are dried off, use a deoderant spray.

Spending up to an hour in the shower and still worrying about if you are clean, definitely sounds like you have some psychological issues, like OCD or Aspergers Syndrome.

Have you ever talked to a psychologist about OCD?

you are definately clean

you sound TOO clean. it aint natural, or healthy believe it or not.

You would be perfectly clean with far less attention to detail than this! If you shower every day, you don't need to shampoo and condition twice, once is plenty. You would be clean after 15 minutes, easily, let alone 35 - 60 minutes.

Are you sure you don't have any form of OCD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder? I'm not being sarcastic. I am just wondering, because you sound very fixated on being clean, although no one has told you that you aren't. You seem to indicate that you have asked people if you smell bad, as well, since I'm sure they didn't just volunteer that information. If you find that you are becoming more and more obsessed with the length of time you are showering and the order in which you are doing it, you should speak to a doctor about it. If you do have OCD, it is quite common and easily treated with medication and relaxation techniques, so it's not anything to be worried about. But it can get worse the longer you remain untreated, so please talk to someone about it if you think this could be a possibility.

Close relative with "cleanliness related" OCD, who was treated and now much improved!
