When to take my birth control?!

Question: When to take my birth control?
I started my period today and I was wondering if I start taking a pill TODAY since I started my period TODAY. Also, i'm 16 and I'm not at school right now because I'm sick so i figured i would take one since i'm home. What would be the best time everyday to take my pill so i don't forget?

Answers:

When you aren't going to be working or at school, always have it on you in case you need to take it and you aren't around; sometimes that can happen, you didn't plan to go out and you don't have it, taking it near/at the same time every single day can lower the risks of pregnancy as well as keeping your period on track.

Also if you have a cell phone, set an alarm for your pill for the time you choose to use it and have it set to go off everyday. =) Hope this helps.

Taking the pill myself.

There are two times to take birth control. When you want to, and when you don't want.
Didn't anyone give you instructions on there use? Call the doctors office were you got them.
Or, I'm sure there are instructions in the package.
Here's another Idea, call a close girl friend who is on them, ask her.

Take one in the morning, or take it before bed, the afternoon is nice also. Then take 2 aspirin and call me in the morning, I'll have my Secretary send you the bill. (just in case, that's a joke)

You do need to take your pill today in order for it to be immediately effective. You should also pick a time when you know you'll have access to the pill, so not in the middle of math class. Perhaps a time before or after school. My gyno suggested doing something like putting it near your toothbrush so you'll take it everyday or night. I use a watch alarm.

in the morning before school or at dinner time keep it where you frequent most so youll see them and remeber to take it or even before bed what ever is the easiest time of day to remeber for you

either morning or at night when you brish your teeth. You should start at the beginning of the week
