Cutting question? Bleeding?!

Question: Cutting question? Bleeding?
I cut my wrist today (extremely bad day), and I already bled through a small bandaid. I don't want to make the bleeding obvious, how can I stop it? Oh and how can I stop scars

Answers:

put a rag on it.
and please, put some peroxide and alcohol and antibiotic ointment on it. change the band-aid daily, of course.
please, try to stop. I used to cut and I know it's hard. and I still have relapses every now and then. but you CAN quit. I know this

To stop the bleeding, using a gauze and medical tape would work best. That's all bandaids are really, but having just tape and gauze you can control it better (pressure and size). If it really is bad, you're going to probably need to change it periodically to keep it clean. Applying pressure will help slow the bleeding. A clean (near sterile) cloth would work good with some pressure. You might be able to tie it there too (not too tight, if it cuts off circulation it'd be bad for the healing). Also, keeping it dry (other than when cleaning it) helps clotting. Make sure whatever material you use lets air through. If you want to make it not obvious, then wear long sleeves and act subtle, but don't skimp on the bandages. If you do, it might not heal right and would scar.

To stop the scars, you have to make sure that it's been cleaned. Soap and water, antiseptics, whatever you can get. And make sure that it doesn't get torn back open or the scabs picked. And the most important thing to prevent scars, is try your best not to do it again.

Good luck, and I hope you feel better.

If you cut your wrist extremely bad.. There would be much more bleeding than just to soak through a small band-aid. There are many veins and capillaries in your forearm leading down to your wrists and there would be a significant amount of bleeding depending on how deep the laceration was.

Just apply constant, firm pressure to the area until the bleeding has stopped, then clean the area so it doesn't get infected. Taking quick action can help lessen scars, but there is no sure way to prevent them if it is as "extremely bad" as you say.

I used to cut a couple of years ago for about a year, and i still have all of my scars. Putting pressure on the cuts will help with the bleeding. Go find some help, its not worth it at all. Good luck.

If you are concerned about the scars, you need to quit cutting. You should find someone you can talk to about the feelings that cause you to harm yourself.

A good alternative to cutting is taking some ice cubes, one or two in each hand, then squeezing them till they melt. .

you could stop being a moron, then you wont have to worry about bleeding or scars. just sayin.

want attention much?
