Answers:

In theory, you can't get pregnant while taking birth control of any kind - of course, this doesn't always work out as some women have been known to get pregnant while taking the pill, but it's not healthy for the baby so you really shouldn't try.

Go back to your doctor and explain that you want to come off the pill because you are TTC. They will be able to prescribe a different medication that will still help with irregular periods, but won't prevent pregnancy or harm a growing foetus.

If you are on birth control, your body stops ovulating, therefore preventing yo from getting pregnant. Many, many, many women do still end up pregnant, mostly due to user failure, but also due to product failure.

Most brands of birth control pill won't harm the fetus in the short term, but studies are still inconclusive as to whether or not it does contribute to some fetal problems, so you are best off ditching the birth control, deal with the spotting, and just have fun trying to make your baby!

If you told your doctor that you were trying to concieve, I cannot see why they would put you on birth control. They would have advised against it.

Best of luck.

I'm a 21 year old female.

No, you can't get pregnant on the pill, and it would be harmful to your baby to try, since the hormones in the pill can have negative effects on the fetus. what did the doc say who prescribed it? It's possible you could be on it for a few months and then go off it and see if your cycle has become normal again. Are you sure you're not pregnant now?

It is possible to become pregnant while taking the pill but it's not used that way, it's a method to PREVENT pregnancy and if you do fall pregnant while on the pill and not know it straight away, it can be quite harmful for the baby. If you still want to try for a baby, don't take the birth control.
