A bump on the side of my vagina?!

Question: A bump on the side of my vagina?
I've got a bump about half a cm on the very side of my vagina. It's not hard, it looks similar to a boil. It's soft but I can't seem to pop it or anything. It's painful sometimes when I walk.
I'm not a virgin but I've only had sex once with a virgin and it was over a year ago. I haven't done anything sexual since then that I could have possible caught any type of STI.

Sorry for asking this but I don't want to go to my mother just yet. Does anyone know what this is or how I can fix it?

Hi Gilly,

A few silly answers above... It is a little cyst or a boil, likely caused by a clogged gland or an ingrown hair, depending on how in from the edge of your labia it is.

It will probably not develop a head you can squeeze, but lay a very warm wet washcloth on it for 20-30 minutes and see if that helps bring it to the surface. It often does. Squeezing it gently over a period of a couple days can help bring it to a head to.

It might be very tender or even sharply painful when you walk, but even if you can't pop it, it will go away eventually (and maybe come back in the future, popped or not).

If it gets really big and painful, have the doctor lance it... she can numb it up first so it won't hurt as much as squeezing can.

If it pops on it's own or with help, squeeze out as much as you can, then the area very well, and a few times a day until it heals completely. Don't use soap beyond the vaginal entrance as it can mess up vaginal chemistry and lead to yeast infections.

My wife gets these all the time and has for 25 years, even before we were dating and having sex.

It COULD be a non STD infection, but you would probably need to go to a doctor for final diagnosis. Some STD's take a long time to show up so when you say you "aren't" virgin, even if you were a few months ago it could still be one of the slow developing STD's.
must visit Dr. Morice site to know common women issues..

Apply hot compresses to it, and Neosporin. It will shrink and disappear within the week.

30 years of boils, pimples, and cuts.

This happend to be shortly before I had my first period and I'm a virgin. It shortly healed after a week or two. It could be different but sounds the same! I never Even worried to tell my mom.

have the v checked and make sure you stay away from sex for 1 year

it means u are growing up.go to the doctor or tell ur mom she 'll help u no matter how she reacts.trust me it happened to me once.

rub hair growth cream on it i have found it really helps sooth the lump ;)

Have you waxed or shaved? Sounds like an ingrown hair. Google it and see if thats what it looks like
