When you are ovulating how do you know?!

Question: When you are ovulating how do you know?
And I am asking for personal answers.

Answers:

It is usually around mid cycle. Some women get pain when they ovulate, there is also a tiny rise in temperature which can be picked up using an ovulation thermometer. There will be an increase in cervical mucus at ovulation, as well as a change in texture - the mucus becoming more pliable, "stretchable", and slippery.

GP for more years than I care to remember

I am currently on birth control so I don't ovulate, but I never knew when I was ovulating when I wasn't on birth control. Some women get period like cramps, some women notice their discharge has chances to more clear and watery, some women spot, some women's body temperature decreases just slightly. Most women don't notice a thing (and I was one of them).

I too am currently on the pill, but prior to that my main two signs were that my cervical mucus would increase and become very stretchy and egg white-like and that I would feel very... romantic, as it were.

Other common signs:
Ovulation cramps similar to menstrual cramps.
Raised cervix (if you stick your finger up there, you probably won't feel the cervix during ovulation)
Your basal body temperature increases. When it increases sharply, you've released the egg.

It is 7 days before your period and this when you look your best physically. There isn't really a good way to know when you are ovulating. From now on keep a diary of your cycle and how you feel about your looks - then from this you can find out what the mean ovulating day is for you.

Some pain in my ovaries, I usually have thicker, stringier discharge around that time.

It varies from month to month, some months I'll definitely know I'm ovulating, others I may not even notice it.

I'm also on Birth control pills so I don't ovulate. But when I wasn't, it was usually mid cycle and I would get heavy, watery discharge.
