I started my period at 12 as well, and was put on the pill at 13 due to irregular periods and hormonal imbalances. I would suggest starting by asking your mom to take you to a doctor to talk about the issues you have during your period. Tell her about the problems you have and mention that you have heard that birth control is one solution. If that is too much, then you may want to call your doctor to ask her to suggest it. If it has nothing to do with having sex, then no matter when it gets brought up I would assure your mom that it doesn't and that you aren't ready. Because, truth is, you should be able to talk to her or some other trusted adult when you are ready, but if you aren't able to you probably aren't ready to be having sex either.
Start off by asking her if your periods should still be irregular then after she answers ask her if the pill would help regulate them. Even if you know the answer to these, ask anyway it's a good transition into asking if you can go on the pill. You can also add in that it helps with acne and to regulate hormones. Good luck :).
Just start off by moaning, & be like, "Ugh! Mom, my periods are like, really bad and irregular; isn't there anything I can do?" And if she says stuff, listen, then also be like, "I'mma Google it. This is annoying me sooo much!"
Then act like you found that the pill can regulate it etc, then just ask her like how it works, and ask if you can try it.

just be honest, she's your mom! make sure she knows you aren't doing it cause your having sex, i asked my mom when i turned fourteen and she flipped, i'm almost 15 and she still won't let me. but you can't ever have them if you don't ask, just make sure she knows your motivation and it should be fine.
ust be like mom, i was wondering if i could go on the pill because i have a really heavy flow. Its not that im sexually active but it really hurts. Or be like, Mom what do you think of the pill. & when she ask why just come out & tell her. :) Good Luck.
