My 7th grade teacher was talking to me about my period!?!

Question: My 7th grade teacher was talking to me about my period!?
Ok so today i was sitting in class and i wasnt feeling good because of "auntie flow". So i was just not really my outgoing usual self. I was holding my stomach from time to time until the end of class. When class was over, everyone was going to lunch but i was held back by the teacher (female). Heres our conversation:
Her: hey audrey whats wrong?
Me: nothinggg
Her: you seemed a little off today. Are you ok?
Me: yea im fine
Her: are you sure?
Me: yea i just dont feel that great.
Her: ohhh so ur on ur period
Me:uummmm. Yeah
Her: ok. So ur crampy and thats why you dont feel good?
Me: yea. But this is kinda getting weird so may i go?
Her: ok. But if you wanna talk, im up for it.
Me: okayy bye

Is that normal for a teacher??? How did she know i was on my period?

Answers:

Hmmm interesting. It could be normal for the teacher, depends on the type of person and teacher she is. She obviously cares, because she noticed, and then said something about it. It's not always necessarily hard for someone to tell if you are on your cycle. I mean especially if you are showing signs that you may have cramps. Maybe you weren't in a good mood at the time and she noticed. I know I never am. Odd question to bring to the public,(aka yahoo answers) but i suppose it is up to you whether it was "normal" or not....? I'm sorry it was awkward for you... hope I could help?

Maybe she was genuinely concerned. She may have offered to send you to the nurse for some Midol or something if hadn't asked to leave. Around 7th grade is the age where most girls are getting their periods and maybe she wanted you to know that if you have any questions and don't want to ask your parents, you can come to her.

Sure, that was just one woman to another.

The only reason its considered socially weird to talk about our periods is because we live in a male dominated society. You'll spend roughly a quarter of your life hiding the fact that you're on your period just because men are grossed out by it.

She was just looking out for you, don't look too deeply into it.

Yes its normal for a teacher to show concern for her pupils and its around your age that most girls get their periods so was just a general guess.

STOP F**KING ASKING THIS.

No, she wanted to molest you.... I answered this before!
