Yeast infection while taking antibiotics?!

Question: Yeast infection while taking antibiotics?
I'm on antibiotics at the moment and I have extreme itching/dryness down there.. and INSIDE. It's really really uncomfortable.

It never happened before but I'm just worried. I'm still a virgin so I can't really do anything. I just wanted to know what were ways to try and soothe the itching/dry feeling? also there is white inside, is this normal? I'm so worried!!

Answers:

Very normal. Happens to me all the time. You see, they put you on antibiotics for something like strep throat, then you get a yeast infection, then you are put on MORE pills for your yeast infection. It's annoying..Not much you can really do about it...Sometimes, though, a nice cold pack helps :) Warm pack PROBABLY won't help. :) Hope this helps!

Experience...Unfortunately, lol

It's very common for females to experience yeast infections while taking antibiotics. When taking them, it changes things "down there" and allows yeast to grow.

It is completely normal to have a whitish discharge, it's usually a little clumpy. A lot of people call it a cottage-cheese appearance.

A yeast infection also doesn't go away on its own, and it needs to be treated. There are over-the-counter creams you can apply on the outside to soothe the itchiness. If you've never had a yeast infection before, I would recommend you see your doctor to let him treat you, but one of those creams you can apply on the outside should help relieve your symptoms until you can see the doctor.

Good luck!

yes you can get yeast infections from antibiotics. It sucks but you can tell your dr about it and they can prescribe medication for it. Amoxicillin was the worst for me it always gave me a yeast infection. Even though you are still a virgin you can insert the cream they will give you to treat the infection.

idk, idont have a vagina.

BUT: (IMPORTANT)
remember to keep taking antibiotics AND DON'T STOP UNTIL YOU'VE FINISHED THE DOSAGE.
not until you feel better. take them until the doctor tells you that its enough.

taking too much or too little of antibiotics leads to the spreading of even stronger bacteria.
