Girls only please! Mother Nature is confusing me?!?!

Question: Girls only please! Mother Nature is confusing me?!?
Story: I found my underwear sticking to me, like it always does, so I went to the bathroom and wiped, and there was a little bit of brown. So I thought 'Hm.' And tried again with more toilet paper. Same brown. I tried one more time, and there was still a little brown! I thought: 'This could be my first period! But let me ask my good old friends on Yahoo Answers.' Please help!!
Info: I am 4ft 8', 12 years old, 85 pounds, have been having discharge for 2 years, size 38A bra, have hair in both places, and very confused!
Thanks SO much in advance!!

Yeah, this is most likely the start of your period! You should really tell your mom so that she can get you some pads to use and hopefully give you some advice. If not, I have some advice for you, even if this isn't your period, there's some things you should know for when it does happen. But I do think that this is it!
Make sure that you shower everyday and wipe really well everytime that you change your pad otherwise (even though this may sound gross), the blood will stick to your body and smell. Also make sure that you get lots of sleep because you will most likely be tired and grumpy anyway but if you don't sleep enough it will be worse. If you get cramps or other discomfort take some ibuprofen or panadol or some sort of medication. Other things for cramps is exercise, heating pad or hot water bottle, or taking a hot bath or taking a nice walk. Another tip is to wear old underwear because incase of a leak, you won't ruin your good underwear. I just have old underwear just for my period and I dont wear my good ones on those days. Also, when you're at school with your period, have a sweater with you incase you leak so that you can wrap the sweater around your waist. You won't leak if you change the pad often enough though. But your first will most likely be light anyway.
If you can, put on a pad and check every now and then to see if there is some more blood. If not, this could just be a sign that your period is coming very very soon! Good luck :)

Brown discharge usually means old blood, so this would be strange if you havent had your 1st period. I reccomend you go to the doctors or tell your mom about it so she can see what it is. Now your very skinny so it usually takes thin girls a little longer to get it so that makes it stranger. I had a cousin who had a similar issue when she went to the doctors it turned out that she had cysts in the entrance of her vagina which her causing her to not have her period. So go check that out, then again it could not be nothing serious, besides every girl is diffrent so you might be getting your period soon SO GOOD LUCK HUN.

It very well could be your first period, and in that case CONGRATULATIONS GIRL! discharge is normal as long as it isn't a funny color (like yellow-ish) or if it smells bad, this could be a sign of infection. it sounds like a period to me. totally normal stuff, you're a woman now! woo!

Got my first period when I was 13. I'm 20 now :)

It is very very very unlikley to get your period before you reach 100 pounds so i don't think you have much to worry about. Just go to the bathroom in a bit and see if it continues.

Yes its your peirod :) .. welcome to woman hood :) .. I started mine when I was 11 .. and that person that said its un likey to get your peirod if you under 100 pownds , there rong I way 95 and I'm 13 . Lol :)

yes this is your period..:) good luck in the future x

it is your bra. go talk to your mom or dad(whichever you have). welcome to womanhood! :)

Ahhhh yes, the wonders and magic of a lady's first period. But don't be nervous or scared or think something is wrong with you.. You are FINE. Your underwear is sticking to you because it is Discharge. Discharge always happens, it doesn't go away. The brown "stuff" that you are getting is called spotting. Spotting is what happens when you are about to start your period or when you are having a really fertile ovulation. Ovulation is when the egg travels through the fallopian tubes and gets planted in your uterine walls ready to be fertilized. But you are too young to have sex, so nothing to fret when it comes to pregnancy. The spotting is normal. Just go to the store and get some pantyliners to help from a mess and staining your panties. Pantyliners also help if your period started and you weren't aware.
Best of Luck!
