Girls, do you buy your own?!

hey sweetie, i am 15 going on 16 soon and yes, i do buy my own bras. I got my first bra at the age of 10, and my mum went out and bought it for me. I never started buying my own bras until i was 12, because i felt like i wanted more privacy, rather than my mum constantly buying them for me. As for buying my own tampons and towels, i also do buy them. My mum gives me the money for them and i go out and buy them whenever im out shopping. I personally think, that if you are going to start buying your own bras and towels and tampons, that you go with a friend who is comfortable being open about things like those, and make sure you have a fair idea of what you are going for aswell :) good luck xxx

I have only bought pads once when i was 18 (i've had periods for 7 years) and that was embrarresing (he was REALLY cute lol) but he was nice and put them in the bag first. I've only just got into tampons so never bought them in a shop
Bras - My last ones i bought online too but if i buy them in the shop then i buy other stuff too to ease the nerves lol I was around mid-teens when i had to do that due to puberty

I think I started buying my own bras when I bought my own clothes, my Mum bought my tampons etc probably until I moved away from home I think. You could maybe ask for her to give you extra money to pay for them, as not fair to come out of your pocket money really. If you feel embarrassed about buying, go on your own and maybe buy a lot at once so they last you a while.
