Contraception advice - tried everything, please help!?!

Question: Contraception advice - tried everything, please help!?
This is a bit complicated, but I'll try not to confuse you too much.

Basically, I need advice on contraception and if there is anything that may be suitable for me.

I get migraines with aura and therefore cannot take the combination pill or injections.

I had the implanon for three years, and had constant spotting. I put up with it, even though it was very very annoying, but when it was time to get it removed I didn't have it replaced.

I was then recommended the IUS Mirena Coil, which I have had for the past year.

However, it has started to fall out last night, so I am going to the doctors tomorrow to get it removed.

The Mirena Coil has been good so far - no periods, no weight gain or acne. No side effects. Or so I thought. I have noticed a loss of sex drive and possible vaginal dryness, and when I started looking into it lots of other women have the same symptoms.

Therefore, I don't want to get this coil replaced as my sex drive really is very low - and I miss it!

So now I want to know if anyone knows of any contracteption that may work for me so I can speak to my nurse about it tomorrow.

I am 21 years old, slightly overweight, and I smoke.

Any help much appreciated!

Answers:

Spermicidal Cream/foam inserted pre foreplay, and a douche post coitus would do the trick I think ! Paticularly if you let your long-term lover do the insertion and cleansing.great fun for the both of you !!

How about condoms, you can even get ones not made out of latex if you are allergic. If you struggle with dryness use lubricant.

condoms. i refuse to take the pill or depo shot as it makes me irritable, get headaches, put on weight, and completely ruins my system. make men you sleep with use condoms.

Hmm... Yes, inserting a large spring into my genitals would probably reduce my sex drive, too.

Smoking will do far more to reduce your sex drive than the Mirena..........it will also shorten your life.

You better see a doctor. The doctor will know what to say about that.
