Embarrassing yeast infections?!

Question: Embarrassing yeast infections?
I'm 17 years old and I get yeast infections super easily. Like once every couple months. I am very very hygienic, but overly sensitive. I had sex multiple times last night and was very sore. I fell asleep without showering, but showered this morning. It could just be wounds, but I have a lot of itching down there. But I swear, EVERY TIME I fall asleep without showering after sex, I get an infection. It's rare that I miss my shower, but it happens once every couple months. Point and question being, I have to ask my mom to get me yeast infection medications. I feel bad because we really don't have much money, and the ones that work are around $12 to $17. I work a minimum wage job with skimpy hours and get around $120 a month. I have missed my last three weeks due to family emergencies. Also, it's embarrassing yo tell my mom all the time that I need yeast infection medication. I just need words of wisdom. Thank you.

Answers:

Do you use any feminine hygiene products like feminine wipes or do you douche?

If so, using those things can cause yeast infections. They kill the good bacteria in your vagina that fight off infections.

You can also start eating probiotic yogurt which will help prevent yeast infections. "Some studies have shown that you can prevent vaginal yeast infections with regular daily consumption of at least six ounces of yogurt containing Lactobacillus acidophilus over an extended period of time ie. 4-6 months."

And here is a pill that does the same thing with probiotics.

And here are ways (including what I had said already) to prevent yeast infections:

Also condoms can cause yeast infections if you are allergic to latex.

Hormonal changes can cause yeast infections as well. So if you are not on birth control you might want to go to the doctor or gynecologist to look into getting it as a way to keep a constant level of hormones in your body.

Good luck!
