Does vicodin + alcohol = rectal bleeding?!

Question: Does vicodin + alcohol = rectal bleeding?
I was in a bad car accident two weeks ago and got whiplash as well as a hairline fracture to my sternum, my car was rear ended twice.
My doctor prescribed me Naproxen first for the pain and when it did not get better, prescribed Vicodin. Because I work during the day I usually only take the vicodin before bed or on weekends when I don't have to be anywhere.
This weekend I was with friends and had taken vicodin and had a few drinks as well as a few red bulls so I could stay awake with them. The follow day I had a great deal of rectal bleeding and saw my doctor. She told me to stop taking all of the painkillers until the bleeding stops and told me to use Preparation H.
I did not mention to my doctor that I had been drinking alcohol over the weekend b/c I know you aren't supposed to while on the pain killers. Could this have contributed to the rectal bleeding?

Answers:

Unlikely.. If she told you to use Preparation H she's diagnosed you with hemorrhoids, I'll presume she had a look ! If you abused vicodin for months it would be a possibility, but not a couple of weeks.

Hope you feel better soon.

No, the rectal bleeding comes from hormones. The cushion part of the anus. Sometimes after a bowel movement bleeding can happen due to scratching or stretching of the anus cushion. Drinking alcohol with a narcotic causes cardiology respiratory problems. The medication can make you very sleepy when mixed with alcohol which causes you to die in your sleep. Slows the oxygen down and eventually you die.

Um, probably. There is a BIG reason why you aren't supposed to take pain killers and alcohol. Duhh

never lie to a doctor , even by omission
