does exercise affect your period?!

Question: Does exercise affect your period?
Does exercise affect your period? Help!?
I've recently (like in the past month) been going to the gym for about an hour and a half a day. It's mostly strength training and a little cardio. I'm 15.

My period is due either today or tomorrow. In the past few days I've been having really faint cramps, but I'm bloated and sensitive.IEarlier today I had just regular discharge but enough to make me think I had started. (It starts out slow & light, then progresses heavier ): ) I haven't had any cramps at all today. I usually get like all-out painful and uncomfortable PMS, but this time it's just barely there! Is it still coming?

I've heard that exercise can get rid of your period, but I want to be prepared.

&We also have prom this weekend..and i'll be on my period. would it be wise to wear like tight (like bike shorts but shorter) that are seemless be a good idea to wear under my dress? Idk what to do just for extra backup!

Answers:

Yes, exercise can affect your period - but only if it's does excessively, or you kind of suddenly start doing it and your body isn't used to it, like you have. Don't worry, your body will work itself out and regulate your periods again.

Yes, I'd wear a pad or tampon whatever you use, and the tight shorts just for back up! and have about 3-4 pads spare just in case!

Hope this helps, have fun at prom:)

because you are exercising you body is releasing endorphins, which are a very strong natural pain killer, you are having less pain because of this.if you wear tampons you shouldn't need to wear the bike shorts under your dress but if you wear pads it could be a good idea, enjoy your prom

being a woman

Yes that shorts thing is a good idea. Exercise can make periods slow down and come later, but you have to do loadss of exercise to make it stop which is unhealthy for you.
