What's your period like and how does it happen?!

Question: What's your period like and how does it happen?
I'm 14 and I think i just got my first period. Does all the blood come out at once or does it drip out over a span of time? Can it stop completely for a couple of hours then start coming out again? I got a little in my undies yesterday and a bit more today today. My mom already bought me pads, and I've been using them. Is that normal for a period or is it not even a period? How does a period last over 3-7 days, does it come off and on or just drip 24/7?? PLEASE EXPLAIN!!

Answers:

Your first period is usually extremely light, and a lot of the time girls don't even realize they've got it. It doesn't all gush out, but if you're heavy, then most of the time you can feel it on your pad, so you'll need to change it more often, and if you have light periods, it's common to go a few hours without finding anything when you wipe.

I'm a male so I don;t have one...lol

Look, you are really asking at the wrong place, you need to see a gynecologist and ask these things and gget a thorough exam. Don't be shy, if you can ask it here, you can ask a doctor. Don't like one? find one you do. Period.

The blood will usually come out a little at a time. It's usually only about 2 table spoons over a week long period of time. Dont worry! Every girl is different. I'm not and expert on periods but it doesn't just gush out all at once, hope this helps :)
