GIRLS ONLY personal question?!

Question: GIRLS ONLY personal question?
If you are a guy, go away. please.
K i'm 14 and like 3 months and i haven't had my period yet is this bad? I mean i kind of liked it because i know how annoying the period is and i hear people like complaining about it all the time like sometimes my friends can't come swimming with me and at a school theme park trip this girl in my group was having it and she kept having to got to the bathroom and i felt so bad. but now i'm starting to feel self concious about not having my period yet.
anyways, is it ok that i haven't had my period yet?

Answers:

It's fine that you've not had your period yet, you're only 14 years old!

Your body knows best when to start your periods, most girls will start before their 16 years old, although that's only 2 years away that's actually a pretty big length of time in terms of development, just trust that your periods will start and learn all you can now to be prepared when they do start.

Please don't let other girls issues with their body effect how you feel about yours. Most girls feel bad about their periods because media constantly bombards them with negative ideas (like constantly seeing photos of super-skinny models effects how girls feel about their bodies) and because often girls don't learn enough to know how to deal with their periods, prevent anything bad and appreciate all the positives. There is no reason for periods to be thought of as a bad thing, anything negative like cramps can be prevented and there is nothing you can't do on your period.

first of all, putting "girls only" will only make a guy want to click on your question

and you're fine...but if you're 16, 17,18 and you still haven't had your period, you might want to talk to a doctor about it - there are many health problems that could prevent menstruation (one of them being poor nutrition - which is one of the most common reasons why a girl might skip her period)

you might want to talk to an older sister or aunt or your mom about it if that's not to uncomfortable, just to see when they had their first period

hopefully as you get older you'll realize that periods aren't so "personal" and "girls only" although boys your age may continue to be embarrassed by the reproductive system...but don't be so self conscious about it, no one really cares that much after the first few years

A girl can get her period anywhere form 8 years old to 16 years old.

I got mine when I was 14.

Don't worry about it. Just enjoy the time right now that you don't have it.

It is 100% fine you have not started your period yet. But if you are 17 and haven't gotten it by then, then you will need to go to a doctor. But as of right now you are fine.

Have fun.

Yes, it is perfectlly normal. Some girls start periods at young ages, such as 9 and 10, and others don't have it untill they are 14 or 15. At the age of 16 though, it may become a problem. All girls mature at different times and different ways, like you see some girls with small breasts and others with large breasts, even though they are all the same. Each body has a different shedule. And maybe, call up some cousins or aunts, and ask them when they started their period. Most likely, you will have similarites with them! Hope this helps you!(:

Of course! My aunt didnt even get it until she was 16! I got mine when i was 11. Every girl is differnt. Ask your mom when she got hers (there gentic). And your freind had to go alot, because period can be heavy and you change the pad every two hours. And i would be happy because it really is a pain in the but to have a period. Just be prepared like pants and underwear. HOPE THIS HELPS!

Consider yourself lucky girl! And no need to worry, I got my period the same month I turned 17. Its different for everyone so enjoy the time you don't have it cause I'm telling you, its a real pain, especially the first day you get it each month.

yess its normall, you get your period wen you are readyy,
everyboddy is different, i got mine in 5th grade nd my friend got it bearlyy
wen she was a sophmoree,
no need to worry(:

Totally normal. It'll come eventually-- everyone is different. I had a friend who didn't get hers until she was fifteen, whereas I got mine when I was nine. It takes time.

No, its totally normal! I know some poeple that started later!! I started in 4th grade, but im very ahead!

You are well within normal range. Quit worrying!
