There is no absolute guarantee about TSS.... however, millions of women use tampons and do not get it. There is nothing to be afraid of - you can try to use them, and if you don't like it then don't use them. I never had one get stuck or had a string break.

You just need to relax when putting it in...and insert it slowly. You can put one foot up on the toilet, or even lay down to do it - it can make it much easier than inserting while sitting.

You also want to aim towards your back a little - not straight up.

Also... don't put one in, take it out, and keep doing that over and over. They can hurt if your vagina is dry, because it pulls against the skin and makes it harder to insert.

Okay, chillax. The two important things you need to know are:

DON'T GO CHEAP on tampons. The brand ones are the sturdy kind. It's the 25c ones that fall apart or break the string.

TAKE NOTE of the time you put it in. You CAN leave it in for 8 hours, but I recommend not leaving it in for more than 6.

Unless you use a tampon when you're not on your period it's extremely unlikely that it will get stuck.
You'll know if you start to leak through, but if you're worried you can wear a pantyliner with your tampon.
Also, make sure you put it in at kindof an angle. There is usually a little diagram when you buy a box of tampons that will make everything clear :)

Well first thing to do is wash your hands then stick your finger up your vagina to get to know your anatomy. Make note of where it ends and how it is angled. Once you get use to where everything is and generally how you should put it in practice with slim ones. If your string breaks you just grab the tampon with your fingers and pull it out. Just make sure to take it out every 6 hours and don't use a high absorbency and you will be fine.

btw i know your really nervous but you spell a lot of things wrong. sorry:) i am also 13 and had my period at 12 i use tampons ever since i turned 13 last september. i was scared like you at first too, but that's how life goes. some things are scary. how you put a tampon in: sit on the toilet, spread your legs out really far, relax all muscles (take deep breaths and close your eyes like as you were about to fall asleep), put the applicator in on an angle up towards your spine, release the applicator and there ya go! remember that you only can get TSS is if you leave it in for more than 8 hours, good luck!!

I had the same problem! I was absolutly terrified of them! I refused to use them, and I was scared of TTS, but I got over that one day, and there not that bad! Just remember to take them out/ change them every 6-8 hours. Also trust me the string will NOT break! Dont worry, and just for it! There shouldn't be anything scary about using tampons! Best of luck!

Went threw the same thing!

Dont be ì started using tampons at 13 too, best thing ever! Feels like you have no period, just remember to change every 4-6 hours. As for TSS, use a absorbency like light or regular to lessen the risk and change your tampon. It wont hurt, just take a breath and throw out your pads.

just wash your hands, follow the directions, and NEVER leave it in for more than 6-8 hours. do that, and you have nothing to worry about.

just stay calm and put it in how the directions say and dont leave it in for too long nothing will go wrong youll be fine!

the string won't brake!
only chance of getting tss is if its in longer the 6 - 8 hours,
