ok so im about to come onto my first period and im spotting. It has been happening since saturday night. Its now almost thursday. is this normal? how long will the spotting last? i keep getting different amounts of this 'old blood', but ive never had a period. whats happening?

Answers:

well...this is actually your period XD
my first period was very light!! and there is no such thing as 'old blood', i asked my mom about it and shes a nurse so i trust her on what she has to say from a 'medical' perspective :P
use tampons when your period is a bit more heavier :)

im a girl and got my first period like 3 years ago XD

If this has been going on since Saturday I'd say this IS your first period. There is no such thing as "old blood". It's brown because it's so light it's oxidizing quick. Meaning mixing with air and turning brown. I've had my period for 17 years and there have been periods that were light enough to just use pantiliners the entire time. The first period can be light or heavy. Everyone is different.

Congrats and welcome to womenhood.

hi,
this is your first period honey! usually first periods are messed up like this and very light. just make sure now you carry pads or tampons (whatever you like) with you in your purse or bag, so youre prepared for next time.

when you first start getting your period, it can be very irregular so be on the lookout for it possibly early, late, or not at all next month. when i got mine at first- i had the first one and it was very light like yours, then i didnt get another one for 6 months after! but everyone is different.

hope this helps :)

its ok this is your first period. its very common that a girls first period will be spotting. welcome 2 being a wonen!! good luck 2 u

usually it should develop with in 3 to 4days
there are cases which will end up start after some time
