My niece was taken to the Optometrist today. They think her eye is being pushed !

Question: My niece was taken to the Optometrist today. They think her eye is being pushed forward?
and I have done some research to the conclusion that she may have "Cavernous Hemangioma of the Orbit". She is so young and beautiful. They dont explain the severity of it or the possible treatment. I then looked on youtube and didnt come across anything I was looking for. So what I would like to ask today is "Have you gone through this"? and "What else can cause the eye to be pushed forward"?

Answers:

A cavernous hemanginoma is a build up or overgrowth of blood vessels in an area of the body that normally just has fluid or fat deposits, in your nieces case, behind her eye. There are a couple of things that can cause that, and without knowing what is causing it I can't really say what will happen.

In many cases the drs simply have to stop the growth of the blood vessels, and may be able to do that with a laser surgery, after which she should be back to normal. But what ever is causing hte overgrowth of blood vessels might cause it to happen again.

Good luck with every thing
