tampon trouble. pleaase help?!

Question: Tampon trouble. pleaase help?
im 16 years old and i need to use a tampon, i have a party and my dress won't look good with underwear..
i tried and tried and tried months ago, but it just hurrrts. like i feel like there is NO way that thing is gonna fit through that tiny hole haha. and yes, i used a mirror gross, so i know i'm putting it in the right place- but it doesn't feel like it. i get it at a certain point and then it feels like it just ends...and it hurts to get any further. but i don't even think i got half the tampon in!
and i know i need to relax, its just so hard- after all those bad experiences with it not working ive lost my confidence and i'm nervous.
and i have the perfect kind of tampon too, the lightest kind from tampax pearl...
any advice??

I don't like Tampax Pearl. Even after years and years of tampon use, I find they aren't very comfortable to use. Try Playtex Gentle Glide, in a Junior or light absorbency. They are by far the most comfortable, easiest to use, and most effective ones out there (and I've tried them all!). You can put a bit of KY Jelly on it if it helps to insert it. Follow the directions in the box (that is why that pamphlet is in there!). It sounds like your hymen is getting in the way. Just move the tampon around a bit before depressing the plunger, you should be able to get past it.
I would never, ever, not even on a bet, go anywhere with a tampon and no underwear! I always use a pad for back-up, just in case, or at least a pantyliner! I've had an embarrassing accident or two in my life, and that cured me! They make underwear that claim to not show panty-lines. Look for some like that. Or wear a different dress. If you must wear that one, wear a slip, or half-slip, and that should help hide any panty-lines.
It just takes lots of practice. We've all been there, don't worry.

I really hate using tampons too, as I have the same problem! However, it is possible; you have to find the slim ones with lower absorbancy. This of course means that you have to change it more often.

Personally, I think I'd rather wear a slip and underwear, especially to an important dance. I'd rather risk the pantylines/slip being seen than the tampon string!! (And don't cut that off or you'll never get it out!)

I always have problems with tampons too. They are just irritating to me. When I do use them (not often) I always remember that the scented ones are a no-no if you are sensative to them. Also, even with a tampon, if you are not wearing underwear you may still leak.

I actually perfer playtex gentle glide it's a lot more comfortable you don't feel it at all and just keep trying if it hurts your probably pushing it the wrong way. Make sure you push it up and towards your back

It just takes a lot of practice.. It's probably cuz your hymen hasn't broken at all....

Someone plz answer my question

Try this, I hope it helps. Well there are instructions in every box but they can be hard to understand sometimes. So here you go :) (This is for a plastic applicator which are my favorite and I find to go in easiest.)
- First take it out of the wrapper..
-Then put your fingers (I prefer middle and thumb) on the skinnier part that sticks out. It will probably have ridges.
- Out your pointer finger on the top of the skinnier part.
-Get in a comfortable position and relax, some people like to put a foot up on the toilet some like to just spread their legs apart what ever works for you.
-Put the thicker side in your vagina. If you don't know where this is then use a mirror and it is the biggest hole.
- Aim up and towards your back, this is the only way it could go in.
-Push it in until your thumb and middle finger reach your body.
-Push in with your pointer finger (On the part it was on) until it stops.
-Pull out both parts of the applicator
-If it feel uncomfortable it is in wrong or might not be in far enough so take it out and try again with a new tampon.

Don't use a tampon with an absorbency that is too high for you because if it is not saturated (wet) enough then it will hurt to get out. Don't keep it in for longer than 8 hours because you can get Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) even though it is very rare. Good luck. <3

ok im 12 ( im guessing my hole is smaller) i use ubykotex regular tampons and they really small but yeah tampax pearl is by far the best to start with. so keep using that mirror, if you look at the vagina at the bottom it looks darker almost "deeper" that is where you place the tampon angle it slightly towards your back but also on a diagonal so for me its to the right. if you do that it should go right in!! just be sure to relax try after a shower or something that way your body isnt tense you dont have to squat or put one leg on the toilet because thats embarrassing and why would you want to be doing that at school? just sit on the edge of the toilet and spread your legs!! hope this helped and good luck!
