Have I started my periods?!

Question: Have I started my periods?
I was at school yesterday when I felt a sort of leaking feeling, so I went to the bathroom. I checked my panties and saw that they were stained with a light browny color and had little red-brown 'lumps' in it. I panicked first, 'cause I thought I might be incontinent, but when I rubbed the lumps away with tissue, they were jelly-like. I remembered reading my book about how periods could be brown, but not about 'lumps'. It happened again today, so I put a pad on. It happened once before in December, and was then followed by quite red blood stains on my panties after. I thought it was my period but it didn't happen again until now. It's a bit worrying. I'm 15 now, and I was wondering if I finally got it?

Answers:

You got your period back in December. Periods are very irregular for years and it is normal for you to ship several months of it. Periods can indeed be brown due to a byproduct called bilirubin. And the clumps are coagulated blood (blood clots). Both are normal. And congrats on your second period.

Without a doubt you are having your period. Periods can be irregular until you have had them for a few years, so nothing unusual with the gap in-between. Periods can start and end with a rusty to brown color, and the jelly clumps are blood clots (completely normal).

It sounds like you are ovulating. You don't necessarily have to menstruate after you ovulate. If you are very thin, this can delay the onset and regularity of your menstrual cycle.

Nini, Yes you have started ur periods, it's normal to see brownish stuff first and it may take a while for them to get regular, so WELCOME TO WOMANHOOD. Good Luck

It sounds like it. Usually it is brown when you first get it, at least mine was. Congrats :)
