Could I have PCOS? WOMEN ONLY!!!!!?!

Question: Could I have PCOS? WOMEN ONLY!!!!!?
I recently found out that one of my friends has PCOS and I was curious of what it was so I researched it and found out the possible symptoms.
I am not obese or insulin resistant but what concerns me is that I have hair growth on my torso and under my chin and on my lip and my periods have never been on track (they will come for about three month then be gone for one-two then it will come unexpected on a different day). It's not thick and bristly like a mans but it's there and light. I went to my doctor to ask if I had it she ignored what I said above and said that I don't because I lost 15 pounds in three months. I think otherwise...

What do you recommend?

I can't change my doctor because I have been assigned to that doctor. The only way I could change my doctor is if I change my health insurance plan; I can't do that until November plus I am on my parents plan.

Hello. Without getting the proper tests for a diagnosis, it's impossible to know for sure if that's what you have. You really don't have the symptoms of PCOS though. Yes, the hair growth is a symptom, but with PCOS you will usually gain weight, have ovarian cysts, acne, and a lot of women experience hair loss. It's possible that you could just have a hormone imbalance, and that's what's screwing up your periods, and causing facial hair. But like i said, there is no way to know for sure without testing for it. Take care.
