Can you miss your period if you forget to take the pill?!
Question: Can you miss your period if you forget to take the pill?
Answers:
Well first, you really need to be careful about forgetting, because missing days when your body is used to the controlled cycle can cause serious problems.
I used to be horrible about it, and would miss a couple of days in a row sometimes, and when I would do so, sometimes my period would be off, and once didn't start until I was already into my first week of the new pills.
I'm not so sure how it would work forgetting the day after sex, but I'm sure it doesn't leave you at that much of a risk of pregnancy. Even so, if you don't get your period within the next few weeks taking a pregnancy test would be an obvious go-to.
Don't stress yourself out over it. Taking the pill controls your cycle, but you missed a day more than once, so it can effect the cycle you were on by either just a couple of days, or sometimes a week or so.
Just as a tip that I was given by my doctor, in case for whatever reason you miss more than one day in a row, never exceed four days. Once you miss four, just stop, and start again when it's time to call in the next prescription.
Hope this helps. (:
