Can you miss your period if you forget to take the pill?!

Question: Can you miss your period if you forget to take the pill?
So I forgot to take my pill on the Thursday before my last week of pills and again the Sunday that starts off my last week. I had been spotting from Friday till Monday. So for my whole last week of pills. Now I have been on my off week of pills and just about to the last day with no period. All my usual syptoms have come up but no actual bleeding except for monday and that was only spotting. I wanted to know if having missed the two pills my period is thrown off or if the spotting was my period. (also the day before I had forgotten to take my pill I had sex with my boyfriend) I haven't had sex since ive been messed up but I am worried that because it was in such close proximity to having forgotten there might still be a possibility.

Answers:

Well first, you really need to be careful about forgetting, because missing days when your body is used to the controlled cycle can cause serious problems.
I used to be horrible about it, and would miss a couple of days in a row sometimes, and when I would do so, sometimes my period would be off, and once didn't start until I was already into my first week of the new pills.
I'm not so sure how it would work forgetting the day after sex, but I'm sure it doesn't leave you at that much of a risk of pregnancy. Even so, if you don't get your period within the next few weeks taking a pregnancy test would be an obvious go-to.
Don't stress yourself out over it. Taking the pill controls your cycle, but you missed a day more than once, so it can effect the cycle you were on by either just a couple of days, or sometimes a week or so.
Just as a tip that I was given by my doctor, in case for whatever reason you miss more than one day in a row, never exceed four days. Once you miss four, just stop, and start again when it's time to call in the next prescription.
Hope this helps. (:
