Answers:

Yeah you should totally go , all you need to do is wear a tampon.
They're perfectly safe in the water, they kind of act like a plug, stops the water getting in and stops the blood from getting out.
I wear them all the time when I go swimming and I'm on my period.
Just remember to bring a few and change them as often as you feel necessary :)

Personal Experience

You can wear a tampon even if you are 14 and a virgin, they're not that big and don't damage the hymen! Don't be embarrassed. Just go to the nearest store and buy a pack. I recommend you get one with an applicator to make it easier. Also remember that the vaginal opening is at a slant so when you're inserting, don't try to stick it straight up (A lot of girls make this mistake the first time they try). It's not a big deal! Change it once every hour or two when swimming and bring some pads for backup.

Barring that, don't swim. A pad will fly right out of a wet swimsuit and it will make you look like you're wearing a diaper.

Been using tampons while swimming since I was 13...

of course you can go if you wear a tampon, but you cant go swimming without a tampon in.
edit: well doesnt your mom have tampons?
if you dont wear a tampon you cant go hunny

go buy tampon if mom dont have any but i sugest if u go u must waer one r u mit get made fon of
but ill ask your mom i am ten i hate my period

Yeah go just wear a tampon... u can't go swimming if u don't wear one
