how do i know when my period is coming and i am 12?!

There is no accurate way to know when your first period will come. If you're beginning to develop breasts, and getting hair under your arms and around the pubic area, then it should happen soon. Some girls start as young as 8 or 9, and some not until 16 or 17. My daughter is 16, has very large breasts, and has to shave her pits, but still doesn't have her period. But I've had mine since 11, and didn't have boobs yet. Every girl is different. If you know what age your mother started, this can give you an indication about what age you may start, but that's not always accurate, as my daughter proves. If you don't start by 15 and have boobs and hair, your mom will need to take you to the doc just to make sure everything is ok. I took my daughter last year, and the doc said everything is completely ok, her periods just aren't happening. Once they do start, you can expect them every 25-30 days until you hit menopause.

I know(: talking to parents is so weird. especially dads(: But u might start to be super moody, hot flashes, and get a lot of discharge for about a week or less before. That gross white stuff. You might get some cramps right above ur butt, ur lower back. It almost feels like u have to go to the bathroom. But if u do get it not at home, or where u dont have any pads, then put in some toilet paper and chill. Because for most people, when u get it, the very first day ever is just some blood and it will pretty much stop and come back the next day. or even the day after. Hope this helped!!

u will have to ask ur mom when she got hers and that will give u a clue as to when yours will come but no one can tell the exact time it will come xxx

Sometimes you don't know at all. If you have discharge then it's probably going to be soon. Just make sure that you're prepared for it when it does come, and don't worry too much about it because you're still young. Take care dear :-) xoxo

dont worry it should be coming soon! i was so anxious for them to start like you!:) what ive noticed is that like a week before your period, you should get a lot more discharge. just hang in there, they'll be coming soon :)
