Got my first period yesterday and I put in a tampon today will i be able to get !

Question: Got my first period yesterday and I put in a tampon today will i be able to get it out?
Sooo yeah came home from school yesterday looked in my undies and period. I haven't told my mom yet...
I've used a couple pads and I think they are gross and annoying so I put in a light tampon.
I got it in perfectly on the first try and I cant even feel it.

Im just hoping i will be able to get it out.. after about 5 hours? I know about TSS and that taking it out after 4 hours is ideal but you CAN leave it in for like 6 max right? I just hope I bleed enough to take it out without hurting.

Answers:

You can Leave a Tampon in for up to 8 Hours (although i dont reccommend leaving it in for 8 hours straight. I started my Second Period this month (its already over with) but i also started using Playtex Sport Regulars.. They work really well too.. And if you dont feel comfortable either you can suck it up hurry and tell her when your alone and then run away after you tell her hah.. or you can Text her and tell her or even write her.. (and i agree with you about pads being gross.. i mean ICK!! ) And dont stress yourself about not being able to get it out.. I was freaking out just like you are now and once i relaxed everything was just Fine! Just make sure your in a comfortable position on the toilet and spread your legs(and labia) and pull slowly.. Dont just Yank it out (because that probably will hurt.) and dont worry about the string breaking because their really tight on the tampon.. So yea just relax stay calm and Have a talk with your mom. (= Hope I helped!! :)

You should tell your mum soon, but i'm not going to pressure you into it. Well done on getting the tampon in first try, they can be tricky if you've never done it before. Five hours sound about right, as long as your period is light enough for the tampon. You can leave a tampon in for up to 8 hours but I wouldn't recommend it. Take care dear :-)

i havnt had my period yet before but i know a bit about pads/tampons. tampons are required if your going swimming while you have your period, btw.
but ya around 5 hours you should take it out, 6 would probably be ok, and make sure you dont just yank out the tampon, that would hurt :P just try to pull it out at a moderate speed and at an angle and you should have no problems!
and pull on the string, and if you cant find the string, dont be alarmed, just search for the tampon and pull it out. gl :)

You are very sensible, don't worry, the bigger danger is in forgetting that it's there. People have been known to die of septicemia after failing to remove. I once had forgotten, had sexual intercourse, that pushed it right up inside, compacted, I panicked but I still managed to remove it, with little difficulty. Take care. 'God bless. Gladgran xxx

It's probably better to start using tampons in a few months. For now, you should stick to pads until you get used to your period, and have a general idea of your flow.

U can leave it in for upto 8 hours. U will have to get it out sometime. Just relax. Be happy once it out. :) and congrats too! Tell ur mom! Just send her a text or write her a note. She'll understand. :D

TSS is rare now because the tampons are made differently. The most important thing to do is read everything on the box of tampons. It will answer all your questions.

you can keep tampons in for up to 6 hours and you will be fine. if you are a first time user i recommend pads not tampons.

its going to hurt because when a tampon goes in it expands so its going to be harder to take out that to put in

You should tell your mom, but I know it's so awkward, so do what you gotta do - you don't have to tell her, up to you.

You can leave tampons in for up to 8 hours, but yes, it's best to do about 4-6. It won't hurt, gently tug on the string. If it feel like it wont come out, leave it in for an hour longer as it may not be completely saturated. You can pull it out, but it may be uncomfy. Don't exceed 8 hours in total, though :) Hope this helps x

(Edit)
it doesn't really 'hurt' it just feels a little weird. It kind of rubs a little, but it takes literally seconds. Just give it a tug kinda slowly, but not like snail speed).

Hope this helps x

Since you just got your period, it'll probably be really really light. Taking out a semi-dry tampon doesn't really... hurt... it just makes you feel weird in your tummy until it's all the way out. You should probably stick to pads/pantyliners until your period picks up. Remember when you are taking it out, do it very slowly. If you rush, it will hurt. Go ahead and tell your mom! She can give you more help than anyone here can. I know it might be embarrassing but she's been through it before. No big deal. If she takes you out to Wal-Mart or something, don't forget to get some Advil or Tylenol, haha. ^.^
