Im 13 and have a septate hymen?!
Question: Im 13 and have a septate hymen?
Answers:
Your mother just like you is a women and has women parts like you.A mother is there to help you and answer your questions involving sex and other things.Depending on the way u tell her she will be understanding and she will not get angry because it is not your fault that your hymen is like that.Just find the best time to talk to her when she is alone just u and her.If she is not convinced do to ignorance ,On your next physical exam ask your doctor to examine your hymen(i know embarrassing)because u are having problems.BY law most doctors are suppose to get the parents to leave to ask u questions u can ask him to check out and see if he spots the defect.Once your spots u have a septated hymen he will tell your mom and explain what it is and that there is surgery. Also do not finger yourself if not necessary because u have hundreds of both harmful bacteria and viruses that can enter your vaginal cavity.
Please take care
Well you will be very glad to know that i am 13 and i to have a septate hymen (well i am pretty sure), coz i can't even get a tampon up there, or my finger!!
I have known for about 3 months and i am trying to get courage to ask to go the doctors, and then i will be so scared to go. Trust me, just ask, i am sure it will be better once you do, and when i ask it will be great for me.

go to the doctor, but I don't think you can go without your mom. she should be understanding, really.
just do it and take control of your body!!
A septate hymen should have been noticed by the doctors when you were born and your parents told. The doctor would have then made arrangements for a minor operation before you turned six (6) to remove the extra skin.
You need to talk with your mother and arrange a visit to the doctors. Even your local General Practitioner could perform the one minute operation using a local anaesthesia (spray) and you would need to wear a pad for a few hours.
If you cannot talk with your parents, talk with a Family Planning clinic nurse/ doctor (can attend at any age over 12) or with a school nurse. They may be able to approach your parents for you. Your parents would need to give their consent to the operation as you have not reached 16 (which is the age in the UK a person can go to the doctor without parental consent).
A father of several (6) adult daughters.
