Hate to contradict the one poster, but your flow won't stop while you are in the water. If it's not heavy, it may never show, MAY! If you can't wear tampons, then you really just have to sit it out... sorry.

Don't wea a pad. It will get all puffy and stuff. Wear a tampon but If you cant, wear a dark bathing suit and take the pad off right before you go in and put one back on right after you get out. Your flow will stop in the water. But when youget out be sure to put one back on right away.
Yea it will abosrb all the pool water like a diaper and you can guess what happens when your bloody pad gets soaked while still in the water. Use tampons becuase it's inside you not like a pad that's on your underwear.
The only way you can swim is with a tampon. Pads just simply will not work. If you don't want to wear a tampon, then maybe just stick your feet in the side of the pool I guess..
Buy some tampons, there is nothing to be concerned about they are perfectly safe and once you get the hang of it very easy to use, trust me no one wants to sit out because of periods.
