Too much bleeding. Is this normal?!

Question: Too much bleeding. Is this normal?
Okay, so last year I experienced heavy vaginal bleeding for 6 months straight, no stopping or breaks. From Feb 2010 to August 2010. I went to the OB-gyn and she prescribed birth control pills which I took for about 3 months, and my bleeding finally stopped - for a while. So I decided to stop the birth control pills after finishing the last batch I had.. I used to be a regular, but after the 6-month bleeding & the pills, there would be a month where I won't have my period and there would be a month where I'll have it twice!! ..Then by 2011, and up to now, I kept on having my period for EVERY two weeks, or even less.. My period would stop for a few days, most is a week and a half, then start again. It's really heavy, ALWAYS HEAVY, like I can fill up a pad in an hour, and I'm having cramps down there. Is this still menstruation? Because I think it's too much. Is it possible that I'm losing way too much blood? I'm 16, turning 17 in 3 months, and non of my friends have this problem. Should I be worried? :(

Answers:

go back to the doctor tell them you're still worried, see a different doctor if necessary to get a second opinion, if you still don't get the help you think you need go to the hospital and ask there, don't give up until you get help, being that heavy for that length of time shouldn't happen

i would be worried .

common sense

I would be really worried if i were you. Not to make you feel bad or anything but thats not normal. so no :(
