why won't my school budge even an inch?!

Question: Why won't my school budge even an inch?
I'm a sophomore in high school in Texas. I'm like NEVER in trouble at school at all (I'm actually an honors student) but today let my friends peer pressure me into joining them in bullying a girl during PE class, and we totally got caught. I felt bad about it as soon as I did it and I HAVE apologized. I know it was wrong. But the school isn't cutting me ANY slack even though I have a great track record. I got sent home with a form informing my mom what I did (totally fair) and that I will be getting swats tomorrow (Tuesday). I just think this is a gross overreaction. I've never even had detention but once! I haven't given my mom the letter yet, though I know I need to when she gets off work today. I just don't know why I can't get a little slack

Answers:

When you do something and you know it's wrong while you're doing it, you should be punished.

You're responsible for your own actions, welcome to adulthood. Wait until you get a job.
They don't care if you're never in trouble, once you are you pay the consequences.

Now back to questions that actually have to do with women's health please.

Your track record doesn't matter. Bullying is bullying and nowadays after things like Columbine, most if not all schools have a zero tolerance policy about it. I'm sorry you're nervous about getting in trouble but I think the fact that you're not being cut any slack is showing that regardless of who's doing it, bullying won't be tolerated. It sucks, but you're in highschool, you'll move on and hopefully you'll be able to grow from the experience.

Does your school have a zero tolerance rule? Cause it sounds like it.

Basically, the theory goes, if they give you an inch, you'll might take further actions at a later date. Knowing the actions prior to doing something will make you think twice the next time the situation or similar situation occurs especially if you know that the school will not tolerate it.

I know its tough, but as time goes on, you'll be a better person from it.
