How do you track your period?!

Question: How do you track your period?
I think it would be really helpful to know around what time my period is coming. I have been on my period for a little over 3 years now so i figured that its probably regular cycle by now im just not sure how to track it.. so you can know when your ovulating and stuff. Also is it true that you cant get pregnate when your on your period.. basically im asking is it betterr to have sex while on your period?

Answers:

The best way to track your period is to just count the days between each period. Start counting from the day you last got your period (the very first day it started), and then count the days until your next period starts.

And one usually ovulates in about the exact middle of their cycle, so about 2-3 weeks after your last period. But everyone's different, of course.

And you actually can get pregnant on your period, it's just not as common. You can only get pregnant when you ovulate, and if, for some odd reason, you ovulate while on your period, and then have sex, you can definitely get pregnant. But it's not very common to have ovulation while on your period.

If you happen to have an iPod touch, there are all kinds of period tracking calendars. I totally forget what the name is of the one I use, but I figured it was going to be a waste of time because it was just some random free iPod app. Turns out I was super wrong..after I entered about 3 months worth of periods, it got accustomed to my cycle and can predict the exact DAY that I will get my period. It also tells me when I'm going to be ovulating/etc. Although I don't think it's 100% reliable and absolutely perfect, it does a pretty dang good job.

On seventeen.com there's this period calculator thing when you type in the date of your last period and how long they usually last and how many days are between your periods. Then it tells you when you might start getting pms symptoms and when you will start your period and then it tells you when the next ovulation will start. It's awesome and I love it!!
