I have been taking birth control for about 3 months. Last month I decided to skip the dark green pills which have no hormones in them to see if I could skip getting my period becuz they are painful and I got my period to my surprise! Ive had my period for 7 days now which is long for me and Im not sure if it will stop and I need someone's help????

Answers:

i apologize for perhaps stating the obvious...but here goes :) in order to skip your period, you need to skip the placebo pills AND start a new pack instead. you take the pills continuously to avoid the "period," which is really withdrawal bleeding from not taking the hormones.

assuming that you probably know this, my next comment is about the pills themselves. you are only supposed to take monophasoc pills continuously. this means that they daily amount of hormones is the same. it doesn't wok woth monophasic or triphasic pills.

check and check? okay. perhaps your bosy just needs a little more time to adjust to the continuous pill taking. if your period does not stop in a day or two, call your doctor. he or she may recommend swtching to a higher dose brand of pills. i have heard that taking the extreme low-dose pills continuously does cause the situation you have described.

in addition, it is possible to spot at any time when taking pills continuously if the dosing is not precise enough. maybe you would have better luck switching to a brand that decreases the length of your period instead of trying to eliminate it. i hope this helps :)
