Question:

This is a personal question for healthcare workers. Serious answers only please.?

I thought that i could be pregnant, I would have been about three weeks but i was getting negative hpts. I went to the gyn who tested my urine and it was neg for pregnancy so he went ahead and did my pap, at the time i was having some untimely bleeding so he opened the cervix a little to see where the bleeding was coming from. After I got home and for the next 5 days the bleeding got worse. Could he have caused me to miscarry if I was pregnant and the tests just hadn't picked it up yet? The bleeding wasn't like normal menstrual blood it was much brighter in color.

Additional Details

he didn't do a biopsy and he only did a urine test not blood

Answers:

Having a pap does not cause a miscarriage. It is normal to bleed after a pap, and maybe the 5 day bleeding you had was your period.
