Nuvaring users?!

Question:

Nuvaring users?

I started using nuvaring in may after 5 years of no birth control (i was married at that time and not trying to prevent pregnancy but have since separated) My periods had been irregular for several months before i started the ring so my doc told me that the first period would probably be heavier since i had a thicker lining to shed due to the irregularity. Well that first period started on June 4th and hasn't stopped! it was very heavy for the first 3 weeks and the doc put me on provera to try and stop it. It lightened up a little but still hasn't stopped. Has anyone else had this problem with nuvaring? will it quit? I wanted birth control i guess being on your period for over a month is considered good birth control huh? lol

Answers:

Depo will make it worse. I was on depo and I bled for 6 months straight, and am still bleeding to this very day. You need to talk to your ob/gyn about a better birth control that is right for your body, maybe a lower dose is better for you. But Depo was a nightmare for me, plus the 30 lbs weight gain. My doctor was going to put me on nuvaring to stop thing bleeding but i will never go on birth control again. Just try and find a different birth control to even out your hormones so you can quit bleeding in order to prevent anemia.
