What could this bump be?
I have nto had sex in almost a year and just 2 months ago i got my annual physical (where i was tested for all STD's) and i was negative for everything. I recently noticed a painful bump on the labia majora. Sometimes i get a bump but it the doctor told me that it was just a ingrown hair folicle but this one looks and feels different. i would go to the doctor to see what it is but i am out of town (in the islands) for the rest of the summer.

The bump that comes up is probably a Bartholins Cyst and is indeed basically a hair follicle that is clogged. However, if the hair follicle becomes infected, it can turn into an abscess.
The abscess can grown and become very painful and may even need excising to drain it.
I know you are out of town, but I suggest you see a Dr as you will probably need anti biotic therapy to sort this, or the problem may get bigger.
