I have had 2 periods a week a part, should I be concerned?!

I have had 2 periods a week a part, should I be concerned?

I am 31 yo. I have a pretty normal period for the most, I am either a week early or a week late. I ended my normal period a week ago friday,then all of a suden a week later I start my period again. This has never happened to me, should I be alarmed? What can make this do that?

Hi there, I used to have that happen to me somewhat frequently and then I found out it can happen when you have ovarian cysts. Most women in their lifetime will have ovarian cysts and a lot will have no symptoms. I would get painful, heavy, frequent periods with my cysts. If you go to your obgyn, she/he will be able to figure out what is going on with you. You may have nothing wrong with you, sometimes stress can cause a strange cycle but you may also have a cyst, polyp or some other condition. Some advice: if the bleeding is very heavy, call a nurse or go to the hospital immediately as this could be a medical emergency. If the bleeding is normal, I would still make an appointment as soon as they can get you in. Good luck and I hope the cycles return to normal soon.
