Does exercise affect the regularity of the menstrual cycle?!

Question:

Does exercise affect the regularity of the menstrual cycle?

I'm kinda concerned that my period is more than a week late, and I want to know why. Sorry, this is long...
Important points:
-I am 16; cycle started when I was 13.
-It has been regular for about a year.
-I exercised consistently without breaks of more than a month for about 2 years.
-Late January this year, I stopped doing sports and did not have much physical activity for awhile.
-I have a problem with migraines, which a specialist said could be related to my hormone cycles. They were basically dormant when I was exercising consistently, with 2 or 3 exceptions.
-Between the 3rd and 4th weeks in June, I suddenly had 2 migraines, probably due to big changes in my sleep schedule (early work;sleepover)
-Trying to suppress these, I started running 20-40 minutes a night on a treadmill. I was runner/swimmer before my break.
Now, my period is late. (I have never had sex, nothing near it at all either. Can't be pregnant can I??? paranoid...) Is it probably due to the exercise?

To Dr Bratta:
Hmm. That is what I heard, and that is indeed a good point, but I still wonder if maybe starting off with relatively intensive exercise after a long period of inactivity may have a comparably drastic effect.

Oops!! Sorry I meant Dr Batta. Dangit now it looks offensive...I'm really sorry I had a friend with the last name Bratte... I'm not calling you a brat!

Answers:

If you have never had sex what would make you think you were pregnant? Im sorry to accuse you of something but your either really confused about where babies come from or you're not telling the truth about your virginity. there is absolutely no way you could be pregnant if you have never done anything close to sex or actually engaged in intecoarse. That being said I have excersised so much that i stopped having periods. It was while i was marine, I worked so much so hard physically that i was down to like 90 pounds and stopped having periods as soon as i slowed down a bit and gained some weight they came back. I have two beautiful children so dont worry about it hurting your reproductive system long term. im sorry about the headaches. If you havent found a medicine that works for you yet you might ask your dr about midrin. its amazing. It wors for mine
