Tampon help!?!

Question:

Tampon help!?

Ok so i want to use a tampon tomorrow, because i have a swimming party, but i just CAN'T. i've wasted like 5 trying, but i can't get it in. It's not like i put in in and then it's uncomfertable, but i can't even start to put it in...like i can't like..."open" the area in question if you know what i mean. Help me!

Answers:

okay... i had the same problem my first few times trying to use one... except for me, i didn't even know where my vagina was... i was really undereducated, thinking that it was the same hole that i peed out of. lol. when in fact, it's an entirely different hole. anyway... tmi... but since i am not you, and i don't really know what you are doing, i'll just continue with a series of possibilities/ options: 1) are you putting it in straight? or at an angle? the correct way is to put it in at an angle. 2) sometimes when you're putting it in, you really have to spread your legs... especially if you aren't sexually active or have never been. 3) try using the tampax "slim"s... they are made smaller (for younger girls, or girls just starting to use them)... you should probably buy the variety packs of tampons. and i'm pretty sure that the slim-fitting tampons come by different brands other than tampax. :) anyway, we'll say that you're putting it in at an angle, legs basically doing the splits, and you're using slims and STILL can't get it in... oh yeah, assuming that you're putting it in the right place... then maybe it's because of a lack of lubrication down there... which can also cause irritation once you do get it in. lotions may help... use one without a fragrance.
if you get it in (even with lubrication) and it's really uncomfortable, make sure it's pushed in as far as you can get it. you shouldn't be able to notice it's there.

good luck sweetie! yay for swimming parties!!
(oh yeah, and my favorite brand of tampon are the tampax pearl. you LITERALLY can't feel them... they're awesome. and they come pretty slim, too.)
