Can pregnacy cause canker sores in your mouth?!

Question:

Can pregnacy cause canker sores in your mouth?

since i've been pregnant i get canker sores in my mouth i read they are caused by stress and hormone change. has any other pregnant women experienced this?

Answers:

Yes! I got them at certain times during my pregnancy with my daughter, at the beginning and then at the end. I am now a few weeks pregnant and am again having them. It was one thing that led me to suspect that I was pregnant. I also used to get them when I would take certain birth control pills. I am firmly convinced that hormones play a huge roll in canker sores! I have also read things that say that it's not the hormones directly, but that certain levels of hormones can affect your immune system, which is what could cause the sores. I'm not sure if this is true, but I know it has something to do with hormones! Try salt water rinses, those are supposed to be very cleansing. I bet the sores will clear up though as your hormones change throughout your pregnancy.
