Why does it hurt taking a tampon off?!

Question:

Why does it hurt taking a tampon off?

I use tampons once in a while, and it is very easily to slide on, but, when its time for me to remove it, it hurts. I have this really huge pain, and im pretty sure the tampon is full of blood. Is this common?

Answers:

hmmmmm...
are you using those really super absorbancy ones? Those tend to expand too much in your body with the menstrating and can be uncomfortable and even painful to take out. Sticking to the regular ones might be your best bet... The tampon should be changed at LEAST every 3-4 hours if you have a normal flow ....and more maybe every 2 hrs or so if its a heavy early flow.

if you find it really painful hun then watch your breathing and if you are tightening up in anticipation of the pain when you're taking it out and causing it to hurt more than it should... try to relax !!!

I found that the most painful was taking out a " dry" tampon..one at teh end of my period ...THAT stinker hurt but it was because of the dryness for sure.
Best bet is to change them often b4 they get too swollen with blood:)

All the best kiddo:)
