Periods.. too many of them?

I have had 2 periods within a month. This is the first time it has ever happended and my usual period is about 7 days max once a month.. but since my second period last month its been over 7 days and I still have mild cramps and very light bleeding, its been over 15 days now. I am getting a little worried. I have put it down to stress as I have recently lost my husband to cancer... and thought well maybe its just the worry.. but do you guys think it can be something else????
