How soon can you go swimming after you have a yeast infection?!

Question:

How soon can you go swimming after you have a yeast infection?

I had symptoms of a yeast infection on Tuesday so I bought Monistat-1 and used it. Today I still have symptoms though they aren't as bad. Can I go swimming today, or should I wait for all symptoms to go away? It's a beautiful day and I'm at the beach and I'd love to go in the water. Also, can I prevent getting another yeast infection by putting in a tampon before I go swimming?

Answers:

Do not ever use a tampon unless you have your period. Even with the one day treatments it can take 7 days to clear up.
You can go swimming, water won't go up there and make it worse. Just dry off right away, sitting around in a wet bathing suit can cause an infection.
