Question about birth control and pregnancy?!

Question:

Question about birth control and pregnancy?

Ok i'm on the pill and i just want to know, if you miss a pill or a few which ones give you a great risk of falling pregnant? because what i understand is that the sugar pill (period pills) are basically hormone free that is why you get your period, thus you have no protection. and then during "ovulation time" when you would ovulate when not on the pill, if you missed a pill there, even just one or two will your ovary release an egg??? or are you still protected??

just want to know.

there is obviously a time where you would ovulate, but when on the pill you dont ovulate due to the pill. what happens when you forget a pill during this time?

Answers:

It's not very clear. You say-"ovulation time" when you would ovulate when not on the pill, if you missed a pill there.... If you are not on the pill, how can you miss a pill? Anyway. If you miss a pill, it won't make you ovulate immediately as hormone takes time to wash off your system. As soon as you remember you need to take the forgotten pill. You should use some other protection also to make sure.
When you are on pills, you don't ovulate at anytime. On the other hand if you miss a pill, you may ovulate as it may trigger the maturation of the follicle at that time (whatever particular phase it may be in your cycle, it doesn't matter)
PS- after reading add det. - At any time you may ovulate if you miss or stop taking the pill, it may not be the ovulation time as per your original cycle. I think I could not make it clear. Just try to understand, it is not a normal cycle when you are on the pills. It won't be "comparatively less risky" to forget the pill at time other than your normal ovulation time!
